The European Union Commission has unveiled the latest expansion in their ‘refugee resettlement’ agenda – a plan to formally import 50,000 more Africans over the next two years at a cost of over half a billion US dollars.
The new arrivals would be in addition to the millions that have already arrived – and continue to do so, both of their own volitions and with the assistance of official EU agencies and NGOs.
In a press release, the EU Commission states that the goal of the program is to create new “legal pathways” for “resettling vulnerable persons from North Africa and the Horn of Africa… who risk their lives at the hands of criminal smuggling networks.”
“Europe has to show that it is ready to share responsibility with third countries, notably in Africa,” EU Migration Commissioner, Dmitri Avramopoulos said in comments to the press. “People who are in genuine need of protection should not risk their lives or depend on smugglers.”
“We need to open real alternatives to taking perilous irregular journeys,” he added. “Investing in more legal pathways, both for protection but also for study or work, is therefore essential.”
The unveiling of the new proposal follows EU President Jean-Claude Juncker’s annual “State of the Union” address in which he announced, “In spite of the debate and controversy around this topic, we have managed to make solid progress… We now need to redouble our efforts. Before the end of the month, the Commission will present a new set of proposals with an emphasis on returns, solidarity with Africa and opening legal pathways.”
The extreme cost of extracting ‘vulnerable people’ from their homelands and resettling them in the West is highlighted in a report by left-leaning UK outlet, The Independent.
“Syrian refugees will cost ten times more to care for in Europe than in neighboring countries,” wrote Rob Williams of War Child. “A budget of $3,000 per refugee in Jordan would provide food, water, education and opportunity. In Germany this will cost $30,000.”
So far this year, over 100,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in Italy alone, with only a small percentage being deemed proper “refugees” – the majority being nothing more than economic migrants seeking EU handouts and a better life at the expense of European taxpayers.
Over 180,000 migrants reached Italy alone in 2016 – and less than 3% were classified as “refugees” according to the UN. Of those arrivals, more than 90,000 simply ‘disappeared’ without applying for asylum. These figures do not account for other migrants who reached the country undetected.
Crime reports out of Germany this year revealed that migrants account for nearly half of all offenses in Berlin alone, and that ‘asylum seekers’ commit violent crimes at a rate 15 times higher than German citizens.
Nigel Farage, leading Brexiteer and staunch enemy of the dictatorial EU elites, summed up the depravity of their behavior in a Facebook post today, saying, “EU bosses are bad people. They treat countries the way the communists did.”
