The longtime tip of the spear in alternative news,, has just had their YouTube channel taken down in a surprise move which states the peace-promoting website was in violation of multiple terms of services. The news website is in complete disagreement with YouTubes decision and see’s the ban as part of a wider effort of information gatekeeping on behalf of platforms like Google and Facebook.

The channel ban comes at a time when multiple independent journalists and organizations are claiming their YouTube channels are being demonetized by Google in a deliberate effort to stifle alternative viewpoints.

Activist Post reports:

A couple of weeks ago we were surprised to find our YouTube channel completely deleted with the message “This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.”

Prior to having our channel seized, we were in perfect standing with YouTube. We were in the YouTube Partners program and most of our content was ad-friendly. We didn’t have a single complaint or strike against our account. All content was original or posted with permission. There were no personal attacks.  If anyone was offended by our content, they were offended by ideas about peace and individual freedom. It’s becoming a common theme, though, as we’ve also been removed from participating in two major ad networks: Google Ad Exchange and Amazon’s CPM Ads programs. Both of which we had been using for some time without issue. You can read the rest of the story at our Patreon page.

The ban prompted RT America’s Lori Harfenist to give a break down on her program “The Resident.”

Activist Post writes that “this was a wake-up call” and “we are living in a time when ideas are so powerful that information gatekeepers (Google and Facebook) must act like tyrants to maintain control.”

“Perhaps they’re a bigger threat to free speech than governments themselves. But working in concert with government makes them even more dangerous,” Activist Post states.

While YouTube has denied their appeal to restore their channel, the alternative news website says that it will begin rebuilding on censorship-proof platforms like BitChute, IPFS and Steemit.

AP’s YouTube videos are backed up on the video platform Bitchute.

Activist Post was one of the news websites targeted by the “fake news” blacklist rolled out by assistant professor of communication at Merrimack College, Melissa Zimdars, earlier this year. This list was praised by the mainstream press as legitimate while those with even half a brain (sorry for going there) saw right through the liberal arts professor’s lists, damning it as utter nonsense.

The release of the Zimdar’s list coincided with the effort by the mainstream press to project its own fake news tendencies on other outlets that do actual and meaningful reporting.
